Dual frequency receiver with integrated communication
Trimble BD920-W3G
The Trimble BD920-W3G module has been designed for applications requiring
centimeter accuracy in a compact package. By integrating wireless communications on the same
module the task of receiving and transmitting data such as RTK corrections is greatly simplified.
The BD920-W3G supports both L1 and L2 frequencies from the GPS and GLONASS
constellations plus the E1 frequency from Galileo.

GNSS and communication tight integration
The Trimble® BD920-W3G module has
been designed for applications requiring
centimeter accuracy in a compact package.
By integrating wireless communications on
the same module the task of receiving and
transmitting data such as RTK corrections
is greatly simplifi ed. A single intuitive web
interface allows a variety of use cases to be
supported. In addition to GNSS base and
rover setups with Wi-Fi or UMTS modem the
module also allows simultaneous customer
access to the internet.
Both GNSS and communication components
are fully shielded. This design ensures the
high quality signals are protected from the
sources of EMI on the host platform. It also
signifi cantly reduces radiated emissions
which speeds compliance certifi cation and
time to market.
Multi constellation GNSS
The Trimble BD920-W3G supports both
L1 and L2 frequencies from the GPS and
GLONASS constellations plus the E1
frequency from Galileo. This delivers the
quickest and most reliable RTK initializations
for 1–2 centimeter positioning. For
applications that do not require centimeter
accuracy the BD920-W3G contains an
advanced kalman fi lter PVT engine that
delivers high accuracy GNSS, DGNSS or
SBAS positions in the most challenging
environments such as urban canyons.
Diff erent confi gurations of the module are
available including single frequency RTK
and GPS only. All features are password-
upgradeable, allowing functionality to be
upgraded as your requirements change.
The receiver also supports Fault Detection
and Exclusion (FDE) and Receiver.
Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) for
safety-critical applications.
Demonstrated performance
Industry professionals trust Trimble
embedded positioning technologies as
the core of their precision applications.
With the latest Trimble-precise Maxwell™
6 technology, the BD920-W3G provides
assurance of long-term future-proofi ng and
trouble-free operation. Moving the industry
forward, the Trimble BD920-W3G redefi nes
high-performance positioning:
- On-board multipath mitigation
- Proven low-elevation tracking technology
- Dramatically improved RTK Initialization
Flexible Interfacing
The Trimble BD920-W3G was designed for
easy integration and rugged dependability.
Customers benefi t from the Ethernet
connectivity available on the board, allowing
high speed data transfer and confi guration
via standard web browsers. USB and RS-232
are also supported. Just like other Trimble
embedded technologies, easy to use software
commands simplify integration and reduce
development times.
